I just received an obscene e-mail that said it was from Focus on the Family. What's going on?

We’ve been extremely disturbed to discover that someone is using an e-mail address that appears to be from Focus on the Family. Some of these may be pornographic in nature. Of course this is being done without the permission of the ministry.

Rest assured, we’re aware of this problem; unfortunately, it is difficult to locate and prosecute the offenders.

You may report this type of activity by forwarding the message you received to: spamreport@family.org.

For the sake of our reputation, we’d also appreciate your willingness to let your friends and family know that these e-mails are a hoax. They are not coming from Focus on the Family.
